Pick up at Kilimanjaro Airport at 10pm transfer to Arusha, night at Meru House Inn, B/B.
8.30am after breakfast drive from Arusha to Machame gate. Begin trekking through the Rain forest on a winding rail, for 4-5hour past the first un point hut to the Machame campsite (3100m). Overnight.
After breakfast, leave the glades of the rain forest and continue on an Ascending path, crossing a little valley and walking along a steep rocky Ridge covered with heather until the end of the ridge. The route then turns West onto a river gorge at 365m (5-6hours) overnight at the Shira campsite (3800m).
From the Shira plateau continue trekking east towards the lava tower called b€œthe sharkb€™s toothb€. Shortly after the tower you come to a junction leading to the arrow glacier. Continue to Barranco campsite (3950m) for overnight (5-7hours). .
Leaving Barranco continue walking on a steep ridge passing the Barranco Wall, through the Karanga valley and the junction which is connected to the Mweka trail. Continue trekking to the Barafu camp-site (4600m) For overnight.(8-9hours).The two peaks, Mawenzi and Kibo can be seen from this point.
Just after midnight trek to Stella point (5745m) on the way to the summit, The uhuru peak. This part of the climb takes about 8 hours. You have now reached the highest point in Africa (5895m)!!. From the summit descend to Mweka campsite(3100m) for overnight.(5hours)
The day is spent descending to the Mweka park gates. (3 hours) Then transfer to Arusha, night at Meru House Inn, B/B.
